Saturday 14th December will see Ventnor transform itself for very best ‘Christmas in Ventnor’ event yet. It’s the Victorian Christmas Extravaganza!
All day throughout Ventnor town you’ll be able to immerse yourself in its Victorian wonder.
Listen to Dickens, have a chin-wag with Phileas Fogg as he strolls the streets with festive nibbles, or enjoy a glass of mulled wine (or mulled cider) and some roasted chestnuts.
A huge amount on offer
There’ll be live music, mime artists, pop-up shops as well as loads of festive fun with raffles, games and competitions.
Kevin Wilson from Original Theatre will be reading Dickens at Sarah’s House on the High Street, where you’ll also find ukeleles, carols, mince pies and even snow from midday.
Why not wander down to Bonchurch’s old Post Office where you’ll find Ye Olde Christmas shoppe selling home made goodies.
“Pinecone bubblegum pop rock”
The most-excellent Hentai Babies – ‘the new wave daughters of cough syrup, playing pinecone bubblegum pop rock’ – will be returning to Church Street Motorcycles.
Don’t miss them, they’re sensational!
Lots for the little ones
The kids will be able to pay a visit to Santa’s grotto whilst you listen to carols from the Ventnor Rotary Club in the Central car park.
Over the road at The Ventnorian Lesley will be hosting festive fun and games as well as offering a Letter to Santa service.
Afterwards take them down to The Candy Man at Random Remnants on Pier Street where you’ll see a mime artist and be offered free hot chocolate with marshmallows by the Abigail, the generous owner.
