Community engagement day planned at Upper Ventnor’s new green space at the Steephill Down Road Community Orchard

Residents of Upper Ventnor are invited to a community get-together at the Steephill Down Road Community Orchard on Saturday, 14th September 2024.

The event starts at 10.30am and promises to be an informal opportunity for residents to gather, enjoy the orchard, and discuss its future.

A new green space for Ventnor
The Steephill Down Road Community Orchard is a newly developed green space, offering the opportunity for residents to enjoy fresh fruit grown right in their neighbourhood.

This orchard represents a significant step towards enhancing Upper Ventnor’s local environment, providing an accessible outdoor area that benefits everyone.

Planning the next steps
The get-together will allow attendees to informally chat about the next steps for the orchard. Locals are encouraged to bring their ideas on how best to use and care for this green space.

The event is hosted by Ventnor Town Council in collaboration with the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust.

Everyone welcome
Tea and coffee will be provided at the event, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for all who attend.

The organisers encourage anyone interested to contact Mark at 07870 701 652 or email Catherine at [email protected] to confirm attendance.

Should the weather take a turn for the worse, the organisers will rearrange the event for a later date.

Promoting sustainability and community wellbeing
This orchard is part of ongoing efforts to promote sustainability and community wellbeing within the Isle of Wight.

By creating spaces like these, Ventnor continues to support initiatives that bring people together and improve the local environment.
