The Leader of the Conservative Group of Isle of Wight councillors has shared his best wishes for the Leader of the council, Cllr Lora Peacey-Wilcox, who it was announced today, will be reducing her workload temporarily to recover and recharge her batteries.
Cllr Steve Hastings said,
“I was sorry to see that Lora was taken ill at last night’s meeting. It is fully understandable that she is now taking some time off to recharge her batteries, and – on behalf of the Conservative Group – I wish her well for a full recovery.
“There is no doubt that Lora works extremely hard in her council leader role and I look forward to seeing her back in County Hall in due course.”
Hastings: “Important that we all look after ourselves”
He went on to add,
“Having recently suffered from my own bout of ill health (which is ongoing), I was grateful for the good wishes recently received from the Alliance Cabinet.
“It is important that we all look after ourselves, ensuring we maintain our own health and wellbeing, whilst also looking out for each other.”
Cllr Hastings finished by saying,
“After a challenging year, I have no doubt that many Islanders are looking forward to a well-deserved break over Christmas, whilst recognising that there are many public servants who will be continuing to work hard throughout the festive period to keep us safe.”
