  • Saturday 27th July: Meet the Artist: Sam French (2.30pm)
  • Sunday 28th July: Extended Ambience live performance (2.30pm)

Jan Frith
Jan is an artist who explores past and present; chance and control; technologies and machines. She often contrasts the historical contexts of technologies, exposes the material aspects of technology or human/ technology interactions.

You can meet Jan at art_house_life between 11am and 12 noon on Friday 26th July.

Don Robinson
Don has been experimenting with lith printing, a process whose characteristic is ‘soft in the highlights, hard in the shadows’.

This process gives light values that are creamy and grainless with an almost ethereal beauty. The shadow tones print high-contrast, separating deep dark detail with ease.

Kevin Chopson
Kevin considers all of his work to be poetry, even though it may take different forms. His art addresses masking, otherness, transcendence, and the power of nature. It is an attempt to translate the seen and expose the unseen.

He said,

“I like to evoke. I like to provoke. I like to slow things down. I like to heighten senses. My art is also informed by my academic interest in philosophy, psychology, and language theory.”

Kevin will be featuring in art-house-life’s Event: Dada Joy, which takes place between 6.30pm and 8.30pm on Friday 26th July. The performance will be livestreamed from Gallatin, Tennessee at 7pm.

“Chopson’s DADA captures the anarchy and energy of DADA in a bravura performance finding unexpected bedfellows in a bricolage of art, poetry, music, and improvisation.”

Faith Ibrahim
Director, Faith Ibrahim, grew up in West London. She attended college and studied Film TV, and Media Production, where Faith in her final project of the year made a dark comedy short film ‘Lonely Lola’.

Lola is a troubled teen, who struggles with her boyfriend’s death and reluctantly gets therapy from the Dr Clementine, whose overly cheery approach only deepens Lola’s sense of isolation.

You can meet Faith at art_house_life between 11am and 12 noon on Saturday 27th July.

Sam French
A recent BA Photography graduate from Bath Spa University, specialising in story-based and documentary photography, Sam’s work is driven by a desire to evoke emotions and inspire compassion. He strives to capture moments that tell powerful narratives, using authentic themes to connect with people on a deeper level.

His series ‘Marked’ uses the themes of land, loss and belonging to explore how the landscape physically evolves as a result of coastal erosion.

He said,

“Questioning the boundary between the permanence of memory and impermanence of place, we are forced to borrow time from our memories, in an attempt to experience our home as we once did.”

Sam will be participating in art-house-life’s Panel Event: Traditional processes in contemporary photography between 2pm and 4.30pm on Friday 26th July, and there is an opportunity to meet him at art_house_life between 2.30pm and 3.30pm on Sat 27th July.

Paul Windridge
Paul’s visual work is centred on the atmospheric distortion of time and space. On ambiguity, abstraction and experimentation in the creation of multi-dimensional filmic universes, demonstrating that there may be more to the world than most people might imagine.

His work has been screened at many film festivals such as New York, Paris, Brussels, St Petersburg, Berlin and Zurich, as well as at special events for the likes of Tate Britain, Metropolitan Museum of Modern Art New York, BBC Electric Proms and Coventry Cathedral.

Paul will be featuring in art-house-life’s Event: Extended Ambience 2.30-4.30pm Sunday 28th July.
