Police have been carrying out house-to-house inquiries around parts of Freshwater asking about stolen copper.
We understand that it had been taken from Green Meadows, an unused nursing home, in Colwell Road, Freshwater.
The West Wight Safer Neighbourhoods team are also speaking to scrap dealers about it.
As you can from Google Map grab below, the roof previously had a considerable amount of copper on the roof.
