As we mentioned before, yesterday’s Planning Committee had a packed agenda – it started at 2pm and finished after 8pm.
Not only did it include the proposed East Cowes development and both the Yarmouth Harbour and Cowes Marina, but also the Cowes Pathfinder School planning application.
Permission granted
We’ve just learned that the plans for the Cowes Pathfinder School were also passed last night.
Planning Officers had recommended conditional permission.
The summary of the planning application is rather modest, disguising quite how much work will go on.
Demolition of school; construction of replacement school; associated landscaping and parking; playing fields; synthetic pitch and floodlighting; games courts; energy centre; sprinkler tank and substation enclosure; bin store; CCTV cameras and external lighting; alterations to vehicular access
It is, of course, a huge change for the area, creating a school that many in the area will be very proud of.
