Next Monday (29th) sees the launch of a new exhibition at the Ventnor Winter Gardens.
Running until the middle of January, the exhibition by Quay House Art Group, is being opened by the High Sheriff Peter Kingston.
Joining him will be Wight Mind Project Manager, Paddy Noctor, who supported the project with involvement from artists from Quay House, Butler Gardens and Sandown Art Groups.
Expect to see local landscapes, seascapes and portraits, with a range of materials (from acrylics, to textiles) being used: real life sketches of animals, sunflowers and rainbow canvasses are particularly unique pieces.
Innovative and imaginative work
Quay House Art co-ordinator Jessica McGaw said, “The Art Group have experimented with different materials and themes to produce an innovative and imaginative exhibition, which has already generated considerable interest.”
WightMind project manager Paddy Noctor added, “The exhibition coincides with our ICOPE project and highlights the type of activity that WightMind are involved with, promoting the value of therapeutic activity and becoming more inclusive.”
Jessica concluded, “I would like to thank all involved with the Winter Gardens for hosting the exhibition, for Peter and WightMind for their support, and, most of all, the Artists for the time and creative energy they have put into this project.”
