Crime commissioner to hand out cash for safety initiatives

This in from the office of Police and Crime Commissioner Michael Lane. Ed

Following the recent publication of his draft Police and Crime Plan, Michael Lane has now opened up applications for funding for up to £65,000 per application.

This money will be available to be used to make you, your family, and your community safer.

Addressing the real issues
The Commissioner is asking existing and potential providers, whether they are in statutory or independent sectors, to bring as much knowledge, expertise, skills and creativity to address real issues that improve people’s lives, at a time when resources are increasingly scarce.

Providers should visit the Website to find out more and apply.

Michael Lane, the Commissioner, said

“In my determination to keep our communities safer, I will work in partnership to deliver the best outcomes, drawing on local intelligence and a sound evidence base. I will enhance existing partnerships and build new ones to best meet the needs of victims and offenders.

“I am therefore looking forward to receiving your applications and encourage you all to submit exciting and innovative approaches to support my vision for a safer Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Portsmouth and Southampton.”

A range of areas to be funded
Applications for funding are welcomed in the areas of Domestic Abuse, Harmful Cultural Practices, Hate Crime, Managing Offenders, Crime Prevention, Restorative Practices, Sexual Crime, Supporting Victims, and Vulnerable and At Risk people.

In addition to these areas, the Commissioner is keen to see any applications which are new and innovative, and which support his vision of a safer community for us all.
