Thanks to Jake Elsley for sharing details of this challenge with readers. In his own words. Ed
This Saturday, our local Cluster team (nicknamed ‘Crouchy’s Crew) will be getting ‘dumped’ in order to raise money for Movember, a charitable fundraiser that raises money and awareness for mens’ cancer.
In our team we have; myself (Jake Elsley); Zachary Kay; Ben Crouch; Luke Connolly; Nick Rudd; Elliott Carrol; Niall Martin and Oliver Price.
Dumped at a secret location
Getting ‘dumped’ will involve us being blindfolded and driven to a secret location eight miles from our starting location of Newport.
With no electronic devices such as mobile phones or GPS, we will navigate our way back to Newport using only a map and a compass.
Two teams battle it out
Another team, made up of members from one of the other Isle of Wight Youth for Christ’s Cluster teams will also participate against us, in an attempt to return to Newport before we do.
Some of us may be wearing fancy dress, so if you see some teenagers in fancy dress wondering around the Island, you’ll know why.
Donations can be made either in person, or online here.
