Glad to hear that the schoolgirl who ran off to France with her maths teacher has been found safe. Let’s hope that she comes through and returns to her natural teen-age life unharmed. Can’t say more than that because I don’t know the whole story.

So the dread deed is done and our Island roads handed over. I expect all concerned shared their special handshake together afterwards.

Pensioners
It appears that the rich among us might have to give up their bus passes.
Just think of the colossal amount of money we’ll save when the likes of Alan Sugar and David Cameron et al have to pay for their tickets whenever they clamber aboard. Millions, I should think.
Poundsavers
Was out doing a bit of random shopping yesterday. Went in to Poundsavers to see what they had for me and ended by buying a tin of Harry Ramsden mashy peas. A bargain at one pound.
Then strolled round to the Coop Super and noted they had the same product for fifty-five pence.
Note to self: Poundsavers don’t claim to be cheaper. They simply sell everything for one pound.
