Readers might remember Daisy Morris, the nine year old from Whitwell who became world-famous earlier in the year, after it was revealed that a fossil she’d discovered at Compton, was in fact a new species of Pterosaur.
Following reports of the new species, Daisy was thrown into the media limelight and continues still to still receive letters from well-wishers around the world.
Children’s Ambassador
Young Daisy has now been appointed Children’s Ambassador by Visit Isle of Wight Ltd – the organisation responsible for developing the Island’s tourism economy.
Visit Isle of Wight say that part of Daisy’s new ambassadorial role – held initially for a period of one year – will be to review Island attractions for children and to write about her experiences on the Visit Isle of Wight Website.
Star of the screen
We understand that Daisy will also be appearing in the Visit Isle of Wight TV commercial, due to be screened in the ITV West and Meridian regions from the beginning of July until the end of August.
