David Pugh To Stand As Island MP?

David Pugh To Stand As Island MP?In what has been described as a last minute decision, we’re told this morning by insiders that Isle of Wight Council leader David ‘golden boy’ Pugh might try and stand for the position of Island MP in the next election.

This will come as a huge shock to many on the Island who value Andrew Turner’s efforts over the last eight years as Island MP.

Pugh has been described by some as a go-getting and others, as a power-hungry young-thing who set the scene for things to come in his early days as leader of the Young Conservatives, before that conference.

He has served time in Westminster and became leader of the Isle of Wight Council – the youngest council leader in the UK – back in 2007 when Andy Sutton resigned over the Swiss string-cheese incident.

Playing a major role in turning the Isle of Wight into God’s Island, Pugh’s understanding of the importance of technology in the 21st century backed the proposal for Christ The King College to become the only high school on the Island to have technology and maths as a specialism.

An office worker in Andrew Turner’s office is said to be recovering from broken collar bone after falling off her chair (ROFL) upon hearing the news this morning.
