Deadline looms for Peer Studios call for open exhibition entries

Last updated:

A reminder that submissions for the very first Peer Studios and Vtown Gallery open call exhibition are due in by this Wednesday (28th February 2024)

The event kicks off with an opening reception on Friday, 8th March (from 6pm to 8pm) with the exhibition running from 9th to 17th March.

Engaging the community through social media
Drawing inspiration from their online community, the organisers turned to Instagram to select a theme for the exhibition.

Responding to the call, followers chose the iconic quote attributed to Banksy, asserting that,

“Art should disturb the comfortable and comfort the disturbed.”

Unveiling “In the Mind’s Eye”
In response to the community’s choice, the exhibition is aptly named “In the Mind’s Eye.”

This title captures the ethos of the event, which aims to provoke thought and evoke emotions through artistic expression.

Welcoming artists from near and afar
Artists, both local and beyond, are invited to submit their work for consideration by 28th February.

This inclusive approach ensures a diverse selection of pieces for the curated exhibition.

How to apply
To apply, interested artists are requested to send the following information to [email protected]:

  • Artist’s name
  • Images of the artwork
  • Medium used
  • A brief 100-word biography

As the countdown to “In the Mind’s Eye” begins, anticipation is building among artists and art enthusiasts alike.

With its thought-provoking theme and inclusive approach, this exhibition promises to be a highlight on the cultural calendar, inviting attendees to explore the intersection of art and introspection.
