Regular readers will remember the bad luck that Champion Sailor Dee Caffari and her all-women crew have had with weather over the last couple of weeks.
The team aboard Aviva were due to set sail for their Round Britain attempt at the beginning of the month, but were thwarted by the calm seas and lack of wind.
It was then hoped they might go at the weekend, but ended up enjoying the Isle of Wight Festival instead due to the bad sailing weather.
However, we have it on good authority that Dee and her crew will be leaving the dock on the other side of the Solent at 6pm today.
The start line for the race is out at sea by Ventnor and it’s envisaged that Aviva will be passing by at around 9pm, so get your long lenses and telescopes to the ready.
With just an hour before departure, we wish the team the very best in their attempt.
