Police are continuing their investigation following an assault in Ryde. The incident, which took place during the early hours of Saturday, February 4, was reported to police on Tuesday, February 7.
At around 12.15am on Saturday, February 4 the 44-year-old victim left the Wishing Well public house, Ryde.
Offer of lift turned nasty
He was walking between Bullen Cross and Thornton Manor Drive when a car pulled up alongside him and the occupants offered him a lift. Three men then got out of the car and attacked the victim with nun-chucks.
The victim suffered bruising and swelling to the left side of his face, and reddening to the back of his neck and leg.
Description of suspect
One of the men police want to speak to is described as:
– White
– In his mid 40s
– Around 6ft
– Large build
– Short light brown hair
– Spoke with a northern accent

PC Scott Carine, said: “It is believed the offenders were travelling in a light coloured Volvo. Did you see a vehicle matching this description in the area at the time of the attack? Have you been approached by a similar vehicle and offered a lift?
“I would urge anyone with any information about who may be responsible, to contact the police.”
