I can’t keep up at the moment, there’s so much stuff going on in Ventnor, but one thing that I won’t be forgetting to do this week, is to get myself down to the Winter Gardens on Friday night.
Just in case you’ve been down on the beach with your head in the sand for the last month, this Friday sees the return of a BiG DiG … not just the usual splendour of DiG DJs spinning the best tunes, but four bands, yes four bands playing in the main hall.
DiG Promotions have teamed up with their ‘dodgy London mates’ at 1234 records to put together a showcase of their finest acts for The Long Good Friday. Apparently a coachload of fops, punks, dandies and other riff raff are being shipped in to entertain us. If that’s not quite your thing, then there’s always the regular DiG DJs and of course let’s not forget the fabulous Motion Pictures.
Oh yeah … and a rumour is spreading that Peaches Geldolf will be doing a spot in the main hall.
Tickets priced keenly at £8 are flying out the door fast, so get yours now by heading down to The Jazz Office, 6 Pier Street, Ventnor, or the Tourism Information Centres in Cowes, Newport, Ryde, Sandown, Shanklin or Yarmouth. Their enquiry line is 01983 863151.
Doors are 8pm- 2am; this gig is for 18+ s, and there will be searches on the door, so behave!
