Discover how rewilding is shaping a wilder Wight at free open day: Isle of Wight Biosphere Festival 2024 (Free)

Last updated:

As part of the first Isle of Wight Biosphere Festival join Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust (HIWWT) for their Rewilding Open Day on Sunday 30th June 2024 at Wilder Little Duxmore.

Join HIWWT on this open day to find out more about their nature reserves and rewilding as they showcase the vital work the Trust does to restore and protect ecosystems to create a wilder Wight.

Throughout the day HIWWT will be giving talks about the site and the Trust’s work and be on hand to answer any questions you may have. Discover their work first hand and join one of their guided walks throughout the day across Wilder Little Duxmore where you will be able to meet some of the Trust’s conservation grazing livestock and find out more about:

  • HIWWT two rewilding sites on the Isle of Wight
  • What rewilding is
  • Its impact on biodiversity
  • How HIWWT are using Exmoor ponies and rare breed cows and pigs to help the rewilding process
  • How nature is thriving and returning since they took on the site in 2020
  • HIWWT’s plans for the future

This is your chance to connect with nature and gain insight into the transformative power of rewilding. Whether you’re a nature enthusiast or simply curious about conservation and the Trust’s work, the event is open to all.
