Don’t forget to vote for your favourite Ventnor Fringe act – they could win an award and £500

Despite periods of gale force winds, torrential rain, and some things not turning up on time, the 2021 Ventnor Fringe Festival was hugely successful.

There were over 200 performances stretched across ten days and a record-breaking 8,500 tickets sold.

Two new awards
This year, in collaboration with News OnTheWight, Ventnor Fringe Festival are inviting audiences to vote for their favourite show to win the prestigious new Audience Choice Award.

A second ‘Spirit of the Fringe Award’, named in memory of local resident Ray Durham, will be awarded to an artist, selected by the staff and volunteer team, who most embodies the spirit and ethos of the festival.

Now is the time to think back over the acts and performances you saw and vote through the Fringe Festival Website for your favourite.

Trophies and cash prizes
Specially commissioned trophies have been designed for both awards, which will also come with £500 cash prizes.

Festival Co-Director, Jack Whitewood, said,

“With hundreds of shows and artists to see over the ten days of Ventnor Fringe, and many artists showcasing and testing new material, we wanted to find a way to celebrate audiences’ favourite acts, as well as those performers that go above and beyond to make the event the eccentric, creative feast that it is!”
