The polling station at St Boniface Church is open today until 10pm for residents voting in the Ventnor Town Council by-election for the Bonchurch and Ventnor East seat.
There are two candidates standing for the seat: Jim Toogood (former town councillor for Ventnor West) and Adrian Whittaker (parish and town councillor for Lake and Shanklin). Read more about the candidates.
Don’t forget your photo ID
The polling station has been open since 7am, but according to one of the candidates, a handful of people have been turned away due to arriving without photo ID.
Polling cards carry vital information about the requirements for presenting ID at the polls.
