The volunteer crew’s emergency pagers went off at 2.33pm on Sunday 12th July following a call for help to the Coastguard from the two person crew of a 30 foot boat with engine problems.

The Yarmouth lifeboat The Eric and Susan Hiscock (Wanderer) was launched at 2.39pm and quickly located the stricken vessel south west of Hurst Castle. Conditions were unfavourable with force six winds gusting force seven from the south west.

The lifeboat took the vessel in tow to the safety of Yarmouth harbour.

Another shout
It was then immediately tasked to go out again to assist a yacht under sail but with engine failure and requiring assistance with their approach and entry into the harbour.

The lifeboat escorted the yacht safely into Yarmouth.
