Joining many others over

Sunday evening (3rd) sees them play on stage at Shepard’s Wharf from 9pm and they’ll be back on stage again on Wednesday 6th August, same place, same time.
Moving over to Ryde on Friday 8th August Driving South will be entertaining the punters of The Solent Inn, Ryde, again from 9pm.
So who are these musicians you ask? Well, Driving South are a three piece Island band who tell us that they believe in a good lively evenings entertainment.
Following influences from the Stereophonics, Manics, Fratellis, Libertines and loads more, the group have played many venues across the Wight, but take great pleasure and pride in Cowes Week, which they have played for the last 3 years – so you probably have seen them before.
They promise good quality music, but not ‘same old cheese’ that seems to readily come from many acts.
Making up the band are Lee on vocals and guitar, Tom on bass and Stu on Drums.
They’ve previously released two EP discs entitled ‘Moist’ and ‘Distraction’, and are currently planning to go back into the studio this autumn to record a full album of original material.
Lee tells us that Cowes week is all about playing the good covers and getting the people up dancing.
