The next East Cowes Indoor Market takes place on Saturday 20th August.
Community spirit and vibrancy were in abundance at the first East Cowes Indoor market on 14th May when the first East Cowes Town Hall market was held. The community were incredibly supportive and the market cafe run by Blackgang Bakes went down a treat with tasty homemade cakes, teas and coffees served.
Back this weekend
The market is back again this Saturday (20th August) with a range of crafts and stalls by local traders, makers and producers.
The refurbished town hall is a beautiful setting for an indoor market and provides a great hub for the community to come together.
It is a place for catching up and socialising as well as buying local soaps, jewellery, cards, art, candles and more!
Reardon: This market will help bring the community together
Tracy Reardon, Mayor of East Cowes Town Council, said,
“We are delighted to be backing this market in the gorgeous Town Hall Building.
“This market will help bring the community together and make use of the wonderful asset that is at the heart of the town.
“We are really looking forward to meeting all the local producers and makers and welcoming Islanders to the new indoor market”
Kennard: Our first regular market outside of Newport
Claire Kennard, Director of Market Days CIC, said,
“Market Days CIC was set up to revive markets in Newport and the Isle of Wight and we are really happy to be working with the East Cowes Town Council who have been so incredibly supportive and proactive in bringing this idea to fruition. This is our first regular market outside of Newport.
“We believe that markets are so much more than just a place to shop, they are full of life and connection and vibrancy where you can directly support your local producers and makers.
“If you feel strongly about shopping local than where better than at a market where you can buy produce straight from the grower or maker?”
The market will open at 12.30pm and go on until 4.30pm on the following dates:
- 20th August
- 17th September
- 15th October
- 19th November
