Isle of Wight Unesco Biosphere Reserve
UNESCO Biosphere Reserves are places that are chosen for their outstanding natural and cultural character and recognised as places where local communities have an aspiration to live sustainably within their local ecosystems.
This is a global designation and apparently, our lovely lil Island shows pretty good examples of this! In 2019, the Isle of Wight was awarded Biosphere Reserve status by the international coordinating council of UNESCO’s Man and Biosphere Programme. There are 700 Biosphere Reserves worldwide but only seven in the UK.

We’re on Moorgreen Road in Cowes, located between the allotments and the Cowes Baptist Church. Postcode P031 7AH.
Look out for the big gates upon entry – we’ll have some beautiful decorations on loan from the brilliant Shademakers to help you find us.
How to get there
So how do you get to us? There are plenty of ways! Walking is probably the best way as it is located within a residential area. There is a car park nearby (postcode PO31 7LS), as well as bus stops and Beryl electric scooter bays close by. And if you live in the area, just rock up!
Check out our lovely little map of the area designed by the brilliant Michelle Lott, aka MooksGoo!
