The Isle of Wight will be having another plug on TV tonight, but this time certainly not in relation to it being stuck in 1952.
Last month saw Bonchurch B&B, The Winterbourne featured in the programme where three B&B owners battle it out for the winning slot. Sadly, The Winterbourne has now closed as a B&B and the property is up for sale and could be yours for a snip at £1.9m.
Tonight sees another Isle of Wight B&B grace our screens as The Enchanted Manor face contestants from Howarth House in Lytham St Anne’s and Snooze in Brighton.
Camera-shy badgers
Shot back in October just before the end of the season, Ric and Maggie, a lovely couple who’ve made a massive success of the luxury B&B that’s nestled away in St Catherine’s, were very keen to provide an insight into what the Island has to offer.
Unfortunately, due to the huge film crew, Enchanted Manor’s friendly badgers didn’t make an appearance, but the contestants were taken on one of Marc Tuckey’s Ghost Walks.
“Hope it comes out well”
We’re not going to give away the details of who picks up the prize tonight, you’ll have to tune into C4 from 8pm to find out, but we spoke with Maggie this morning.
With experience of previous TV appearances, Maggie told us, “I might have a glass of wine beforehand, because you never know how they’re going to edit it.”
Trying to remain positive she said, “I’m shaking like a leaf, but I hope it comes out well. It showcases the Island, which can only be good.”
Cheer along Maggie and Ric tonight
We’ll be tuning in to cheer along the Island’s contestants.
Maggie and Ric are well aware that the ‘fantasy theme’ might not be to everyone’s liking, but there’s no denying that they do it incredibly well (not to mention its huge commercial success).
Thanks to Sheila Perry for reminding us about the broadcast.
