The Isle of Wight People’s Assembly Against Austerity will be joining others in Newport on Saturday as part of the Enough is Enough campaign’s National Day of Action.
Towns and cities across the UK (around 30 and counting) will see people coming out to protest as part of the campaign with large demonstrations planned in London, as well as closer to home in Portsmouth.
“Fair pay, affordable bills, enough to eat and a decent place to live. These aren’t luxuries – they are your rights!”
Enough is Enough
IW protest
Here on the Isle of Wight, the People’s Assembly Against Austerity will be joined by those supporting Just Stop Oil, Extinction Rebellion and the RSPB to call on the Government to take urgent action to address the cost of living crisis.
Where and when
Head to St James’s Square, Newport from midday to take part and meet other like-minded Islanders.
The National Day of Action is calling for a Government that:
- Works for the 99 per cent and not the 1 per cent,
- Ensures decent pay for workers,
- Prioritises climate and environment protection
- Invests in public services.
