Next time you’re waiting for one of the super duper new Fastcats to arrive, spare a thought for one of the old ones.
If you thought they’d all gone out of service, you’d be wrong.
Snapped up and given a makeover by Severn Link, one of the old WightLink Fastcats is soon going to be ferrying passengers across the water Swansea to Ilfracombe.
In what we understand is a £100,000 makeover, the vessel is being actually being refurbished nearby in Portchester.
The addition to the fleet for Severn Link means that tourists will now be able to catch a ferry between South Wales and North Devon, hopefully adding to the local economies for both areas.
