Peer Studios in Ventnor is all set to host an hour of musical exploration and introspection this weekend.
Acclaimed composer and musician Radu Malfatti, known for his distinctive approach to improvisation, will be gracing the venue on Sunday 4th June between 5pm-6pm.
An improvisation of “Shizuka ni furu ame”
The Austrian-born artist will perform an improvisation of his renowned piece “Shizuka ni furu ame”, promising an experience that might very well redefine your understanding of music.
Malfatti’s “Shizuka ni furu ame” is not just a composition; it is an invitation to meditate on sound, an opportunity to attune one’s senses to the delicacy of tonal shifts and the profoundity of silence.
Carved a unique path in the world of music
Born on in Innsbruck, Austria in 1943, Malfatti has carved a unique path in the world of music. His early training at the Academy of Music Graz with Eje Thelin laid a solid foundation, after which Malfatti embarked on a decades-long nomadic journey that took him to various cities around the world.
From Aachen and Amsterdam to London and Zurich, each place left its mark on his music, culminating in his settling in Vienna in 1997, where he has since been based as a composer.
