Explore vintage transport: Wightrider weekend returns to Ryde this October

Isle of Wight Bus and Coach Museum will be running their popular Wightrider event again this October (Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th), and there should be something for everyone to enjoy, families and transport enthusiasts alike.

The format is the same as before, head to the Isle of Wight Bus and Coach Museum in Ryde, purchase your programme (you can also do this in advance, allowing you to jump on at any stop on route) and start queuing for the route you wish to travel.

Travel on all numbered bus services shown in the programme is entirely free of charge and offered on a first come, first served basis.

Buying the programme helps the museum
You do not have to be in possession of an event Programme to travel on any of these services, but all proceeds from the sale of programmes go towards both maintaining the buses in the museum and the fabric of the building itself.

A spokesperson for the Wightrider event says,

“All of the vehicles are provided for your enjoyment on our Heritage services at the expense of the museum or individual owner.

“Please respect the care taken by everyone in looking after these vehicles.”

You can read more details on how to enjoy the weekend in the programme. The Isle of Wight Bus and Coach Museum can be found at The Bus Depot, Park Road, Ryde, Isle Of Wight, PO33 2BE
