As we reported last week, Global Grants funding has just been awarded to the Island with the aim of providing training for 23 unemployed people in the skills of lifesaving.
The courses begin in May and the schedule is as follows:
Course One – May
An intensive one week course from 7 May 2007 at RLSS UK Isle of Wight Training facility near Cowes
Course Two – June/July
Being held over three weekends, 16 and 7 June, 23 and 24 June, 30 June and 1 July at Medina Leisure Centre, Newport
Cost: courses are FREE but places are limited so book early.
What you get out of the course is not only a nationally and internationally recognised qualification, but also employment opportunities, team building skills and improved self esteem.
Who should apply? Anyone over 16 who are looking for a life skill and qualifications that could open up employment opportunities
