We’ve all heard about the final voyage from Southampton of Cunard’s Queen Elizabeth 2 (QE2) which takes place next month.
Well, Red Funnel are hoping to provide a piece of the action for those not fortunate enough to afford a ticket for the final cruise to Dubai.
The Red Eagle is Red Funnel’s flagship vehicle ferry and on the same day it will follow the QE2 as she leaves Southampton for the middle east, where she will become a hotel and shopping venue at Palm Jumeirah.
The QE2 was first launched in 1969 and since her maiden voyage has apparently carried over 2.5 million passengers, completed 25 world cruises and more than 800 transatlantic crossings!
If you’d like to watch her final departure from Southampton in November, The Red Eagle is offering two open viewing decks, where you’ll get a fantastic view of the majestic cruise liner as well as having a great vantage point to hear the fireworks.
Judging by the video below, you might need to take some earplugs once the horns start blowing!
Tickets are £15 for children, £30 for adults and £22 for seniors and include a glass of wine or soft drink, plus live music and family entertainment.
To join Red Funnel’s evening cruise and mark the QE2’s final departure, check the Web site or call 0844 844 9988.
