The tenth round of the Vectis Isle Pioneers Motorcycle Club’s 2015 Championship was held at Sweetwater Brook, Calbourne, courtesy of Mr Trevor Strickland.
The Youth classes were headed up by Jos Wright (Youth Expert) with another solid performance. These sections were not easy! Jos should be really pleased with his efforts today that earned him ten more Championship points.
The Youth over eight Class was convincingly taken by Kerry Jacobs, with Mathew Power doing well to finish in second spot.
Harrison Crickmore won the contest in the E class from rival Alfie Haydon, who was undoubtedly hindered from one or two clutch problems! Alfie did really well to complete the trial – Dad did well to keep the bike going! Four year old Reggie Price once again treated today as a practice session, well done Reggie – keep up the good work.
Will West seized the honours in the Expert class despite a determined effort from Brother, Jim West who had to settle for second place – section one proving to be the decider here. Nick Read took third place not too far behind. The Intermediate class was taken by the returning Mark Coombes. Mark, on a borrowed bike, finished just four ahead of Ben Read with Mike Taylor in third.
Nick Symes went around today with a perfect score, not dropping a single mark! in the Twinshock’s, rival Luke Bowen Clarke, did well on an unfamiliar bike to finish in second place.
The Novice class was won by Paul Kent. Paul finished the trial on the second lowest score of the day! Just six dropped marks! Well done Paul, good effort. Championship leader, Wayne Brodie finished in second with Brian Brockwell in third.
