The magazine will be distributed, mostly by email to the over 5,250 public members of the Trust.

The Trust’s membership is gathering pace since successful recruitment at recent summer events and the Trust is well on the way to achieving the overall target of 6,200 members by April 2017.

In the foreword, Company Secretary and Foundation Trust Programme Director Mark Price summarises the recent Medicine for Members’ meetings including what we can do to prevent and control infections and colourful images of the brain and the truly ground breaking research going on within the Trust. These meetings are always very well attended and are an excellent opportunity for members to raise questions to the Executive Directors.

Mark says:

“Members play a central role in the Trust by participating in meetings, as part of the Patient Council and letting us know what they think about service developments. We face significant challenges over the next couple of years and we need Members to support the Trust, our staff and the wider Island care system as we make the changes required to ensure that we can meet the growing demand for care services.”

‘Four’ is been produced in-house and printed at A5 size to minimise the production and postage costs. The majority of members will receive an e-mail containing a link to the magazine on the Trust website, and the Trust is encouraging as many members as possible to receive information by e-mail to ensure that ongoing costs are minimised and Members are communicated with as quickly as possible.

We urge anyone who has not joined to seek us out online or fill in one of the many leaflets distributed to surgeries, libraries, clinics, and elsewhere.
