Firefighters Wash Cars For Charity

Is your car in need of some soapy attention?

Have you yet to wash off the Bestival mud?

Firefighters Wash Cars For CharityIf the answer is yes to either of those questions, then you might want to hold on a little longer if you were planning to get out there with a bucket and sponge this weekend.

Those rather lovely firefighters at Newport firestation will be running a car wash on Saturday 11th October (weekend after next) for most of the day.

All money raised from the car washing will go towards the Firefighters’ Charity and the SQ2SQ 2008 Appeal.

The fundraising initiative has been organised by Station Manager, Julian Trout, who is also taking part in the Great Northern Run this coming Sunday.

This guy must be a very fit chap, because we’re told that he’s viewing this Sunday’s run (of 13.1 miles) just as a warm up for the New York Marathon which takes place next month.

Those heroic chaps on the Sq2Sq team who recently cycled over 1,400 miles in 14 days from the Isle of Wight to Rome will also be at the car wash to support the event, so don’t forget to take your autograph books along as well as some cash to donate to the appeal.
