If you listen to the national radio, you’ll have heard the Environment Agency are issuing flood alerts for much of the south of the UK from tonight.
This includes the Isle of Wight coast where high tide is expected from 11pm in Yarmouth and 11.50pm in Cowes and East Cowes. As you might expect, low lying land and roads will be the first to be affected.
The Environment Agency also say, “Water will be high up slipways at Yarmouth and may affect building adjacent to the harbour as well as slipways in East and West Cowes.”
If you are concerned about possible flooding you can call the Floodline on 0845 988 1188 using quickdial 012114 for up-to-date flooding information.
Heavy rain and strong winds
The Met Office have also issued a severe weather warning for tomorrow (Friday) for heavy rain and strong winds.
Given that, be aware of an increased risk of surface water and river flooding, as well as disruption to transport.

Cowes – Cross Street car park
East Cowes – outside Co-Op
Ryde – Simeon St Rec
Newport – opposite the courts
