If you watch TV and Channel4 in particular, you may well have heard of Fonejacker.
The TV programme features prank calls involving a number of different characters, all played by Kayvan Novak.
Yesterday afternoon, VB reader, Gemma Barrett, who works at Chocolate Island in Godshill got in touch after what she believed were two calls from the famous Fonejacker.
Dufrais Constantinople on the case
Gemma, who is a massive Fonejacker fan, told us that the first call came at 11am with the second about ten minutes later. They were both were of a similar vein but with different character voices.
“The first sounded exactly like the Dufrais Constantinople character and he said he wanted to make a complaint, saying the chocolates he bought last week tasted like Mars bars!”, she said.
“At first I thought it was my fiancé playing a prank, but as the call went on and the voice was consistent. I realised this was the real thing. After inviting him to come in for a personal demonstration of the chocolate making process, I asked him his name and he said it was David Manly.”
Irish Mike not happy
She went on to say, “The second character had an Irish accent and claimed that he had been in last week and had also bought chocolates which tasted like Mars bars. I asked if he was still on the Island, he said he was, and again I offered a demonstration.
“Both characters were evasive when I asked what day they’d like to pop in for the demonstration. Neither character could give me information about the offending chocolates and both calls were from withheld numbers.”
