Packets of Biltong

Food Standards Agency deems certain Isle of Wight Biltong products unsafe and issues recall

The Isle of Wight Meat Company is recalling several of its Biltong products due to safety concerns.

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has highlighted that these items have not been prepared in accordance with food hygiene and legislative requirements and produced without the necessary approval. As a result, the FSA has deemed them unsafe to eat.

Recall details and recommendations
The FSA has announced that point of sale notices will be displayed in the locations where the products were sold. These notices will inform customers about the recall and the associated risks.

If you have purchased any of the affected Biltong products, the FSA advises against consuming them. Instead, customers should take a photograph of the packets and then destroy them.

For a full refund, customers can email the photograph of the destroyed packets to [email protected]. The refund process will be handled via email communication with The Isle of Wight Meat Company.
