From 13th April to 30th June 2026, residents on the Isle of Wight will have the opportunity to visit a community venue for a mini health and wellbeing check and if eligible, receive their spring Covid-19 vaccine.
What’s on offer at the clinics
Working in partnership with primary care, the Vaccination Centre at St Mary’s Hospital is bringing support closer to home by hosting a series of drop-in clinics. These local sessions aim to provide convenient access to advice about health and wellbeing and seasonal vaccination services within community settings.
Visitors to the clinics can benefit from a range of support, including blood pressure checks and guidance on maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Advice will be available on topics such as weight management, smoking cessation, diabetes, and managing stress, helping individuals take proactive steps towards better overall health.
Who is eligible for the spring Covid vaccine
Those eligible for the spring Covid-19 vaccine – including people aged 75 and over, and individuals aged 18 and above with severe immunosuppression – will also be able to receive their free vaccine at these sessions.
Experienced nursing staff will also be on hand to answer questions, address concerns, and signpost further for support where needed.
Lightfoot: Helping identify health issues early
Sue Lightfoot, Clinical Lead at St Mary’s Vaccination Centre, emphasised the value of accessible care,
“By bringing clinics into local communities, we’re making it easier for people to access support without the need to travel far.
“These visits can also help identify potential health issues early.”
