If you are aged 16 to 25 with a keen interest in sailing, then you can get free Dinghy Instructor training from the UKSA Maritime Academy at Cowes next month.
Six lucky young people will be offered a weeks free training course from 13th to 17th April, and then given the opportunity to gain work experience by putting their skills into practise teaching others to sail this summer.
UKSA is a not-for-profit organisation, yet is widely recognised as the world’s leading maritime training organisation for young people, professional yachtsmen and leisure sailors alike.
Each year the academy trains thousands of young people, largely from disadvantaged backgrounds, introducing them to the fun, excitement and challenges of sailing, encouraging personal growth and development in the process.
UKSA’s Simon Davies is full of enthusiasm for the benefits of the training and sailing in general. “Learning a wide range of sailing and maritime skills enables anyone from any background to gain a new appreciation of themselves and the opportunities life has to offer”.
The chosen students will learn and stay at the academy’s fully equipped residential campus at Cowes, featuring state of the art training facilities, and comprehensive amenities including heated indoor pool, multi-gym, bar, shop and internet cafe.
