The new year brings some cracking entertainment for Ventnor’s freshest (if you’re 13-19 years old) with new sessions at the Youth Centre planned for this term.
More details will follow, but just to get your taste buds going, there’ll be a new Saturday session for experimenting with music and film/animation. You’ll be able to use the equipment and space for rehearsing, jamming, DJing and VJing.
All excellent stuff, but get this …
They’ve just taken delivery of some decks and have a DJ-ing course starting on Monday 23rd Jan for six weeks. An hour each session, probably starting at either 7pm or 7.30pm … and you’ll get to show off by performing your newly acquired DJing skills at the end of the course. You never know, you might be playing at DiG in a few years time. Cast your eyes over the photos from the debut night. That could be you on the stage getting everyone dancing.
Add to that Streetdance sessions starting on Saturday 21st from 11am – 12.30pm and the offer of football from 12.45, and you can’t say there’s nothing to do in Ventnor.
Blimey, all we had at my youth centre when I was that age was table tennis and the roller disco … ah … now there’s a thought!
Check back for more info over the coming week.
