Freshwater LifeBoat Callouts

Thanks to Tony from Freshwater Lifeboat for this week’s update. Ed

Freshwater LifeBoat CallsWe had two shouts Monday afternoon.

First at 14.26 to the aid if Ben a sheepdog who had fallen down the cliff into Watkins Bay next to Freshwater Bay.

Our D Class lifeboat launched with three crew and the dog’s owner, Anne, on board. Conditions were good and the crew beached in order to re-unite Anne with an unharmed Ben.

While dealing with the incident at Alum Bay the Coastguard tasked Freshwater Lifeboat to the aid of yacht Dandy a 10m vessel with three persons on board en route from France to The Hamble with a fouled propeller.

The D Class was recovered and Freshwater lifeboat launched to pick up the Dandy about 1.5 miles south of the Needles

The Dandy was towed into Lymmington harbour and was met by Lymington coastguard.
