Prince Rostislav Romanov, the great-great-nephew of the last Tsar of Russia, is set to visit the Isle of Wight. He is coming to display his artwork at an Art Sea exhibition, hosted at the prestigious Cowes Corinthian Yacht Club.
Rostislav is not only royalty, but also an enthusiastic artist, who utilises his creative skills to portray the beauty and peculiarity of the world’s inherent connections.
Trained artist
His artistic journey began at the University for the Creative Arts in Kent. Subsequently, he earned a BA Hons in Fine Arts from the University of Falmouth.
In addition to his studies in the UK, he has also received training in Russia, where he made a plethora of friends.
A deep affection for the Isle of Wight
Now a resident of Hastings, Prince Rostislav maintains a deep affection for the Isle of Wight.
The exhibition will not only display the Prince’s work, but will also feature creations from established Island artists.
These artists include Tony Westmore, Birgit Ackroyd, Martin Swan, Elise Bernard, and several others, some of whom will be exhibiting their work for the first time.
This extraordinary event is being organised by Maddy Dobson, of ML Events IOW, who will also showcase her vibrant new work, alongside her husband Chris, and his enchanting miniature creations.
Drinks reception
On Friday (19th May) invitees can look forward to a drinks reception at the Cowes Corinthian Yacht Club.
Prince Rostislav and his mother, Lady Ampthill, will grace the occasion with their presence.
The evening will also serve a noble cause, with a collection being held for Dementia UK Admiral Nurses IOW.
Weekend exhibition
The Art Sea exhibition will extend over the weekend of the 20th and 21st of May.
This artistic spectacle will be open to the public between 10am and 4pm at the Cowes Corinthian Yacht Club.
