GCSE Results Day brings celebration and new beginnings at Isle of Wight College

The Isle of Wight College is delighted to celebrate the achievements of students across the island on this year’s GCSE Results Day. It has been a day filled with joy, relief, and anticipation as students received their results and began the next chapter of their educational journeys.

Whether it’s stepping into further education, starting an apprenticeship, or embarking on a new career path, today marks a significant milestone for all students across the Isle of Wight.

Determination and hard work
The atmosphere at the Isle of Wight College has been one of excitement and pride as our own students collected their results.

The determination and hard work demonstrated by these young people have truly paid off, and we are incredibly proud of each one.

Personal triumphs
Throughout the morning, stories of personal triumph and perseverance have been shared, reflecting the diverse paths our students are set to take.

Pictured below is Samantha Deacon, she has passed her adult GCSE maths and is now set to complete her teaching degree. After graduation, Samantha will be pursuing a career as a secondary school GCSE dance teacher.

People come to the Isle of Wight College with a wide range of goals—some to advance their careers and others for personal reasons. Kayleigh Brodie achieved the highest possible mark in adult GCSE maths today. When asked about her goal, she said,

“My children are now in secondary school, and I want to be prepared to help them with their studies when they need me.”

Parker: Inspiring to see the students’ commitment to academic excellence
Principal Ros Parker expressed her heartfelt pride, stating,

“It is inspiring to see the students’ commitment to academic excellence and their resolve to overcome challenges.

“These achievements not only pave the way for further education, but also give our students the confidence to pursue their career goals.”
