Get hands-on repair experience at the Isle of Wight Repair Cafe

How would you like the chance to have your broken household items repaired by volunteers – and stop them going to landfill?

The Isle of Wight Repair Cafe is a pop-up event that brings people together to learn how to repair things that would otherwise be thrown away.

Learn how to make repairs
Take along your broken items such as clothing, electrical items, or small items of furniture.

As part of the Repair Cafe ethos, you will be encouraged to get involved in the repairs to try and give you the confidence to start your own repairs.

Book your repair slot
When you book you will be asked to select a free ticket with a repair type and a time. This is to help the team manage numbers in the venue and match your repair with the repairers they have available.

A quick guide to repair types:

  • General or Electrical – Repair of household appliances, power tools, toys, lamps and other simple electrics
  • Electronics – Repair of HiFi, games consoles, DAB radios and other electronics items
  • Textile and Crockery – Repair of clothing, curtains, fabric, broken mugs and plates
  • Computer, Tablet and Phone – Computer, phones, tablet repair, help and advice

Do support Quay Arts by having something to eat or drink before or after your repair is done.

Taking place on Saturday 11th November 2023 between 10am and 1pm. Book your slot via the Ticket Tailor Website.

For anyone that has not used this talented group it is well worth making an appointment, can save you loads of money and time. They do have a voluntary collection point to help keep the team supplied with spare parts etc and you have hopefully saved something from going into landfill.
