The-Bees:

Have you got your Rhythmtree Festival ticket yet?

The sun is shining, the sky is blue, it’s hot outside and we’re more than ready for another music festival here on the Isle of Wight.

Rhythmtree Festival returns to Calbourne this Friday with a cracking three-day line-up of quality live music.

As well as the wealth of diverse music from around the world, there are some local favourites featuring this year too.

From near to far
Friday sees a return to the stage of Isle of Wight favourites, The Bees. Fronted by local musical hero, Paul Butler – who has been keeping himself busy producing the likes of Michael Kiwanuka and Devendra Banhart – we’re sure festival goers will be treated to some old favourites by The Bees, such as Chicken Payback and A Minha Menina, and possibly, some new material.

Joining The Bees on the main stage lineup for Friday are Plastic Mermaids and CHAMPS. These are two Isle of Wight bands to watch, so make sure you don’t miss them.

Rhythmtree is all about bringing music from around the world together, so as well as music from the UK, you can also catch the like of Columbia/Belgian band La Chiva Gantiva or Senegalise dance music from The Batch Gueye Band.

As the second largest net contributor to the EU it seems odd that we are incapable of getting European permission to spend our own money how we see fit.

I agree and if we don’t get justice we should kick up a real right fuss. Good luck to all involved.

Thank you Mr Rees for your exceptional hard work over many years.
I believe very few realise the potential consequences if we do not receive this funding.
Critical does not even begin to cover it.
I would say good luck but it is being well read, knowledgeable and driven which will produce results, not luck.
Thanks again, Harry.

If I remember Mr Rees tried this before and failed. How much money did it cost the Island? Let Ian Stephens put the case forward this time.
