Council offer grants for adult learning courses. This in from the Comms team, in their own words. Ed
The Isle of Wight Council is inviting local groups and organisations to submit bids to become providers of adult learning opportunities in the community.
A grant of £50,000 is available to fund a range of projects although they must all meet a number of criteria.
Can cover a variety of activities
These include increasing the participation in cultural activities, sports, active recreation and activities to improve health and well-being. They must also help develop skills to support the economic development of individuals, families and communities, and target learning opportunities for disadvantaged or vulnerable groups.
The council will place particular value on innovation and the potential for partnership working between organisations
Look for match funding
Bids that will attract funding and resources from a range of sources are encouraged, as are bids that increase opportunities for involvement of the public and volunteers in new projects.
The deadline for bids is 3pm on Friday 29th June.
Organisations wishing to apply for the funding should read the commissioning prospectus available on the council’s website at www.iwight.com/prospectus
To request an application form or find out more, groups should contact Rob Brindley, Commissioning Manager: Adult Community Learning, to outline their ideas on 817280 or via [email protected]
