Great reviews for CHAMPS’ new single

Regular readers will know that we are big fans of the Champion brothers. Michael and David were amongst those who bought us The Shutes and their latest incarnation, CHAMPS, seems to be hitting all the right spots too.

They put in a fantastic performance during the Ventnor Fringe Festival and are very well received in London and farther afield.

Online music site, RCRD LBL, is just one of the latest adding to the rave reviews. They say,

“Gorgeous, gauzy folk-pop intended to burst your heart on this CHAMPS première of ‘St. Peters’. As meditative and godly as its name, milk-dipped vocals, cathedral reverb and bare guitars may very well bring you to your knees or to the doorstep of the one that got away. Pastoral gems await.”

Only 300 copies of the single were released (available on white label 7″ from Rough Trade), so if you manage to get a copy, look after it well!

Truly a beautiful place for all to share – superbly maintained, gorgeous to look at through the different seasons, especially of course in Spring & Summer… and the fitness park is a nice bonus. Well done !

A terrific feather in Ventnor’s cap and all involved are to be congratulated.
To those in power – mess with it at your peril.

What a good sense of celebration and exhilaration this must create, both for those that strive to achieve and maintain this lovely park and for all those members of both the local and wider island communities and visitors alike. Hope they might put up or show a plaque so that they are able… Read more »

Awards of Excellence and plaques, if used correctly are fantastic ways of showing, sharing and complimenting, the esteem in which achievements such as this are held by the employers, employees and communities alongside each other.

Long may their good work continue.
