It may still be warm, but this weekend motorists on the Isle of Wight may see a somewhat unusual sight on the roads for this time of year.
IW Council’s gritting vehicles will be out on Saturday 8 October, although they will not be treating the roads.
Instead the drivers will be taking part in a training run.
The practice runs are mainly to allow the drivers to familiarise themselves with the set routes and the vehicles ahead of winter.
The drivers have already taken part in a previous training run in late September.
