Have you been the victim of rogue traders or know someone who has?
Police are appealing for residents to let them know if they’ve been affected by rogue traders, after a specific incident in Freshwater last month, where one resident is reported to have paid hundreds of pounds to a group of men.
In order to help identify the suspected rogue traders, who are using a white Ford Transit One van, one of the men in the group, was wearing an orange tabard with the initials J R on it.
If you’ve come across anyone fitting the description, the Police or Trading Standards would love to hear from you.
There’s a great deal of support in the effort to crack down on the rogue traders. The enquiries are being led by Isle of Wight Council’s Trading Standards service but with the extensive support of the CID, Intelligence Unit, Targeted Patrol Teams (TPT), Roads Policing Unit (RPU), and West Wight Safer Neighbourhoods team (SNT).
