The Community Advice Network are holding a Health and Wellbeing Fayre on Wednesday 10th September at the Winter Gardens.
There will be information and advice from a range of local organisations, a display giving information on the Ventnor Town Plan, local craft stalls, activity demonstrations including gentle chair exercises and natural therapy taster sessions.
The Community Advice Network is a group of Voluntary and Statutory organisations who work in partnership to promote their services and offer information and guidance to individuals out in their community.
Partners who will be present on the day include Age Concern; Trading Standards; Health Promotions; The Isle of Wight Rural Community Council including the Volunteer Centre; Community Safety Team, Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service, Health Improvement Services, Sound Advice, ICAS and Housing and Council Tax Benefits and Isle of Wight Society for the Blind.
Helen Snashall, from the Isle of Wight Rural Community Council said,
“The CAN partners are delighted to be able to use this event to support this year’s priority element from the Ventnor Town Plan, Health and Wellbeing. We are encouraging people to come along and get information on a range of issues including flu jabs and winter health, stopping smoking, pensions and benefits, home safety and community activities. There is also the opportunity to enjoy a free head or hand massage. “
