The Met Office have just issued another severe weather warning for the Isle of Wight valid from 0010 until 23.45 on Friday (24th)
They say,
Bands of rain are expected to move eastwards across south and southwest England during Friday (including the Isle of Wight).
Rainfall accumulations of 10 to 20 mm are expected over most parts, with 30 mm or more possible over some areas, especially windward coasts and hills.
With the ground saturated over much of the region, the public should be aware of the risk of further local flooding and associated disruption.
An alert has also been issued for Sunday (26th) between 0600 to 2345.
They say,
Another spell of wet and very windy weather will cross the UK from the west during Sunday. Heavy rain and gales are likely to affect most areas for a time with further flooding possible in prone areas, particularly southern parts of England and Wales where the ground remains saturated following earlier rain.
The public should be aware of the possible disruption to transport and the continuing risk of flooding in prone areas.
